English

Fancy Rat Rescue Weij Voor Dier is a very small-scale home-run animal rescue that gives fancy rats a second chance. We are located in the Netherlands, hence why my website is in Dutch. Since I also have foreign supporters, I decided to make an English page. This page is basically a summary of the other pages, without the information about adoption (since if you’d be interested in adopting from my rescue you'd probably live in the Netherlands as well).

Donate

You can donate via PayPal, but we are also very happy with supplies for the rats. Including cages, bedding, water bottles, hammocks, and toys for the rats.

If you would like to bring supplies, please make an appointment via weijvoordier@gmail.com

What we do

Rats that come to our rescue have different backgrounds. Some rats have been brought to us by emerging allergies or simply by a lack of time. We also take on cases of neglect or animals that have been taken away by animal protection or other authorities. The rats who are currently in the rescue have various backgrounds, all described on the page "Rats in the shelter". I update this page regularly. It is in Dutch.

As a rescue we incur a lot of costs. One vet visit for one rat starts at a rate of €40.00 and can quickly rise to €200.00 - €300.00. We are currently housing a number of rats with various problems, so we can use all the help.

We are very happy with a donation (big or small). Can't miss anything at the moment? Then you can also share our Facebook or Instagram page!

Finances Rescue

Because I want to be as clear as possible to our supporters, I have made an overview of my income and expenses related to the rescue. I see the shelter as my hobby, all costs incurred are paid from my own wallet.
